11/18/2023 0 Comments Phoenotopia awakening rocket boots![]() limited inventory slots means you'll want to focus on upgrading your inventory ASAP or make multiple trips back to town at every opportunity to get more healing items many enemies can hit you multiple times in a row even with increased superarmor turned on in accessibility options average cooked food items can offset one, maybe two hits. food has to be bought or farmed from enemies, then cooked all healing is done with food and/or a song that can heal you 99 damage (not a full heal later in the game when your health is higher) that you can't play again for *fifteen minutes* button-mashing QTEs when restrained will never get you free fast enough to matter Lots of later enemies cannot be staggered but can chain-stun you to death Tons of areas and minigames where mistiming a jump/getting hit requires you to wait/run 15-30 seconds before retrying Ragdoll after hit is gratuitously long and you bounce multiple times unless you dodge-cancel the first bounce The penalty for failure in this game is taking little bits of your time over and over and over again Most bosses are enjoyable and/or cheesable if you're getting frustated Unlockable items genuinely open up the world in brand new ways each time you find one Movement seems rough at first but you get (somewhat) used to it over time There's a flute you can play whenever you want Lots of nooks and crannies with goodies to find Lots of interesting and varied puzzles to solve The moment I realized that the consequence for failure in this game was going to be the old school "increasing amounts of either standing around waiting and/or grinding for healing items", I couldn't enjoy the game anymore. ![]() I'm a generally patient person who doesn't easily get frustrated by video games. Recommended only if you've got all of the patience and spare time in the world, even if it's on a deep discount.
